What an incredible whirlwind of a week it was in New Jersey! Honestly, I think I’m almost recovered now.
Being part of the experience was absolutely amazing. The energy from all three runway shows, the staff, the models, the families—every single moment left me speechless. It was one of those experiences that fills your heart so much you can hardly put it into words.
One of the best parts of the week was the people I met and the friendships I gained.
I have to give a HUGE shoutout to my 9-year-old friend, Annamae. That girl has all the sass needed and then some! Her personality is larger than life, and she absolutely shines everywhere she goes. I’m so grateful I got to meet her and her wonderful parents.
Another big shoutout goes to my friend Mackayla. I already can’t wait to hang out again in July in DC!
And can we talk about the runway for a second? Because I think I absolutely slayed it in my fit!
From Thursday through Sunday, life moved at lightning speed with fittings, rehearsals, runway shows, and exploring the massive . There was always something exciting happening around every corner.
I got to try out the the iMantia Tek RMD, which is basically like a stander that you can drive. How cool is that?! I also tested the Mantis, which felt like a mix between a bicycle and a walker. I even went rock climbing and spent a lot of time networking and connecting with incredible people in the disability community.
In the little spare time we had, I had the privilege of making a few dreams come true for Madelyn and Maggie.
We took a ferry to Ellis Island and then visited the Statue of Liberty. After that, we headed into New York City!
Maggie got to visit the American Girl Place New York and pick out her very own doll. That baby was in HEAVEN! Meanwhile, Madelyn got to experience the massive American Dream mall. Holy smokes… that place is HUGE.
After such a full and busy week, we were definitely ready to come home. So on Monday, we drove straight through—14 hours! Whew!
But honestly, neither me nor James has slowed down yet.
While I was still in New Jersey, I received an invitation and some news that completely blew my mind. Tuesday was filled with confirming details, booking flights, and reserving a room. Y’all… stay tuned for a BIG announcement tomorrow. To God be all the glory! My mind is absolutely blown.
And James jumped right into a very special project Tuesday, too.
To the entire Runway of Dreams crew—THANK YOU. Thank you for creating such a beautiful, empowering, unforgettable experience. You made every model feel seen, celebrated, and confident.
Now it’s time to jump right back into real life: getting back to my walking routine, celebrating Mother’s Day, attending baby showers and birthday parties, wrapping up softball season, getting ready for Maggie’s dance recital, handling work meetings, attending an overnight work conference, and preparing for yet another big adventure at the end of the month.
At least the laundry is finally caught up… for now. LOL.
Stay tuned!!!!!
